Certified ADAS Calibration Services

ADAS calibration aligns and tests the cameras and sensors used by your vehicle’s Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. These systems may support lane departure warnings, forward collision alerts, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and other features that monitor the road around your vehicle.

Nacco Glass provides mobile and in-shop ADAS calibration for personal vehicles, work vehicles, and commercial fleets. We can calibrate a vehicle after installing its new windshield or address a recent windshield replacement completed by another auto glass company or body shop. In-shop appointments are available in Mokena, IL, and St. John, IN, with mobile service offered throughout Northern Illinois, Northwest Indiana, and Southern Wisconsin.

When Does a Vehicle Need ADAS Calibration?

ADAS calibration is commonly required after replacing a windshield that supports a forward-facing camera. Removing the original glass and installing a new windshield can change the camera’s position or viewing angle even when the physical difference is difficult to see. Understanding why windshield calibration is necessary begins with recognizing how precisely these systems measure the road and the vehicle’s surroundings.

Calibration may also be required after collision repairs, camera or sensor replacement, suspension work, wheel alignment, or other service that affects the vehicle’s ride height or sensor positioning. Warning lights, error messages, or unusual driver-assistance behavior can also indicate that the system needs to be evaluated.

Static & Dynamic ADAS Calibration

Static ADAS calibration uses targets, measurements, and specialized equipment while the vehicle remains stationary. Dynamic calibration uses diagnostic equipment while the vehicle is driven under manufacturer-specified road and speed conditions. Some vehicles require one method, while others require both.

The correct procedure depends on the vehicle’s year, make, model, trim, and installed safety equipment. Whether ADAS calibration can be done mobile or requires a shop also depends on the procedure and whether the service location provides the necessary space, surface, lighting, and road conditions. Nacco Glass identifies these requirements before calibration begins.

ADAS Features That Depend on Accurate Calibration

Common ADAS features include lane departure warnings, lane-keeping assistance, forward collision alerts, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, parking assistance, and other safety or convenience technology. These systems may use different combinations of cameras, radar, and sensors, so not every feature is affected by the windshield in the same way.

A windshield-mounted camera must have an accurate view of the road to interpret lane markings, vehicles, signs, and other surroundings as intended. Calibration restores the camera’s reference points so the affected systems can process that information from the position specified for the vehicle.

Lane-Keep Assist & Windshield Camera Calibration

Windshield replacement affects lane-keep assist when removing and reinstalling the forward-facing camera changes its view of the road. Lane-keep assist uses that camera to monitor lane markings and provide information the vehicle may use to warn you about lane departure or make steering corrections.

The camera can require calibration even when the new windshield appears to fit correctly. Completing the manufacturer-specified procedure helps the system identify lane position using the intended reference points rather than relying on a camera that may be slightly misaligned.

Mobile ADAS Calibration for Personal Vehicles & Fleets

Mobile ADAS calibration may be available at your home, workplace, fleet facility, or another suitable location. Dynamic procedures require appropriate roads, lane markings, traffic, weather, and driving conditions. Static procedures require enough level space to position the vehicle, targets, measuring equipment, and calibration frame according to the manufacturer’s specifications.

Nacco Glass evaluates the vehicle and service location before confirming mobile calibration. This can be especially valuable for commercial fleets because eligible windshield replacements and calibrations can be coordinated at the facility instead of requiring each vehicle to travel to a shop. Every vehicle still receives an individual assessment because two units within the same fleet may use different cameras or require different procedures.

If the on-site environment cannot support an accurate calibration, service can be completed at our Mokena or St. John shop. The goal is to choose the setting that meets the vehicle’s requirements rather than forcing every calibration into the same service model.

Schedule Mobile or In-Shop ADAS Calibration

Nacco Glass brings more than 30 years of family-owned auto glass experience to windshield calibration for personal and commercial vehicles. Our certified technicians can coordinate windshield replacement and ADAS calibration or calibrate a recently installed windshield when the original installer did not provide that service.
